Standing in line at the Jewish Food and Folk Festival on Sunday, April 7, Lyn Wofford proclaimed that she is lucky and signed up for the 50-50 raffle. And yes, she won it. But Lyn was not the only one who won that day.
Lyn took these winnings and translated this cash into shoes, shoes, shoes, for those seeking asylum in the United States. What a wonderful way to pay it forward. The photo shows Lyn standing by the stash she brought to First Christian Church for distribution to one of the many donation sites in Las Cruces. This photo also does not reflect the fact that there were many more items than shoes in those bags.
