Sandy Weber, Sue Stefford-Grey, Paul Cook helped to pull off a great virtual Farewell Party! What a hoot to see the Bever family reenacting their first visit to worship at First Christian Church, their baptisms and formal entry into the congregation and a variety of scenes since that time. Thanks to Melody Burns for her gift of music – her singing always makes me teary. A surprise visit from Randy Granger was a blessings as was his singing Deep Peace.
Gifts received were so well thought out. The three crosses silver necklace from the Cutter Gallery, the UCC Guatemalan made stole – perhaps the only one I will wear from this time forward, and the financial gift. All so much appreciated. And later that day I was able to sit quietly and go through your cards and notes of goodbye and thanks. A thoughtful memory book was part of the gifting where I am able to keep your good wishes and prayers. A part of you will indeed be coming home with me to Arizona.
You are a generous people with your gifts, your presence, your care, and your love. Thank you for your care and support over the past 25 months. And, as you know, a part of me will be staying with you as I continue to hold you in prayer and care as you begin the next exciting chapter of First Christian Church in Las Cruces with Bethany.
