The search committee is forming and getting excited. The committee asked for permission to add a younger member to provide some generational insight to the process. Erica McDowell has been recruited to fill this space. Congratulations, Erica.
Did anyone else find this to be an especially prescient lenten season? There were many moments of hope and renewal: the repainting of the sanctuary; the Palm Sunday messages delivered by Dr. Rev Bill Lyons and Dr. Kim Fields-Haley; the outpouring of support for a surge in migrant families in our border region; the special music on Easter Sunday that had us dancing in the aisles. Things were really looking up (pun intended)…and then the news of the bombing during worship services in Sri Lanka. Ugh! I’m going to be in funk for a while, I think.
Please put May 25th on your calendar. We will hold our Board Meeting early and than continue with our “spring cleaning” so join us for one or both if you are able.
