Another mass attack against people of faith took place this past Thursday in Christchurch, New Zealand. Each act of hatred is devastating and deeply disturbing. Where have you found your comfort? How are you taking care of yourself? It helps me to know that God cries with us, and with grief too deep for words, God knows the prayers of our hearts.
What can you do? Stop. Breathe. Pray. Talk. And remember, YOU are the light of the world – so shine your light into the darkness by sharing your kindness throughout each moment with all you meet. Fear and hate will not win the day.
Rabbi Larry Karol led the Interfaith group in prayer on Friday during our weekly book group gathering. The prayer was written by Alden Solovy in 2015 but has been updated several times and titled: Racist Violence against Houses of Worship. Because of copyright issues I invite you to go to this link: http://tobendlight.com/2015/07/racist-violence-against-houses-of-worship/
May you feel the presence of the God of Light and Love as you journey through this difficult time.
Blessings,
Donna
