By the time you are reading this article, we should be nearing or into the New Year. This will be a pivotal year for First Christian Church. If all goes according to plan we will recruit, interview, select and welcome a settled pastor this year. While the search for a settled pastor is an exciting opportunity for us to consider, I hope you and I will individually and collectively sit back and take stock of what we have here at First Christian Church. Consider the ministry that we provide. Consider the church family that surrounds us. Consider the building that provides space, warmth and comfort to so many groups and gatherings. While the search for a settled pastor is underway we still have the day-to-day operations of the church to conduct. The Board of Directors, the Elders, the Deacons, the Interim Pastor and the staff are committed to keeping the doors open, the lights on and the congregation together. I have not filled all the leadership positions for the church for 2019. If you are interested in stepping up and serving please reach out to me so we can discuss the opportunities that are available and find one that stretches you (a bit) and serves the church.
