5W1H

I look forward every month to seeing the First Christian Church in Las Cruces newsletter. It was especially meaningful to me while I was up in Idaho this past summer. Feeling connected to my church family is important to me. Sometimes the newsletter is full of interesting information, others I have to admit not so much. But staying tied to our spiritual family is important to me.

Did you recognize the title of this article? Who, What, When, Where and Why, and How. 5W1H! These don’t always have to come in that order… let me see. How about this for an example:

Who? We’re looking for YOU. We really need some help.

What? Help with what, you ask? Simple! We need help putting together our monthly newsletter!

Why? Putting together a Newsletter is a lot of work First of all there’s coming up with the content, then writing the articles, then putting those articles into a format that is conducive to publication. This involves hours and hours and hours of time. But our staff is limited for time. Putting together our monthly newsletter involve mostly our Interim Pastor and our Secretary. And lets face it. There is a lot of work that needs doing. Do we want our staff spending it all on the newsletter?

Where? This can be done from the comfort of your home. Do you write poetry? Share it with our congregation! Know some interesting event coming up in the community? Share it with our congregation! See a good movie? Write a review and share it with our congregation! Have an idea we haven’t mentioned here? Share it with our congregation!

When? There’s no time like the present! Start now! If we have it by the 23rd of the month, we should be able to get it into the newsletter on time!

How? Oh, that’s simple. Just write it up on your computer and email it to editor@fcclc.org! What’s that? Oh! You don’t have access to a computer and email? Sorry about that. Type or write it up (in as clear a handwriting as you possibly can) and bring it to church on Sunday. Give it to Rev. Donna or Eric or a member of the Board. We’ll take it from there.

We look forward to reading your articles!
